Theresa is the Founder and CEO of TG Consulting Sdn Bhd. Prior to TG, she was a Senior Tax Partner in Deloitte South East Asia for 19 years.

In a career spanning more than 40 years in Deloitte, 37 of which was in taxation, she  served major multinational clients in addition to domestic corporates.

She set up and grew the Transfer Pricing practice in Deloitte Malaysia to become the largest in the country. She served as the National Transfer Pricing Leader for 18 years.

In Theresa’s substantial transfer pricing experience, she advised her clients on transfer pricing planning and controversy including audit defense, appeals and dispute resolution. In the process, she has successfully assisted her clients to resolve complex transfer pricing and tax issues, applied alternative methods of dispute resolution and negotiated unilateral and bilateral advance pricing agreements (APA) for her clients. She assisted her clients to conclude the first-ever and all the first three APAs signed in Malaysia.

Theresa also assisted clients with tax planning including due diligence and tax advice on pre- and post-mergers. She assisted her clients in tax audits and investigation and provided assistance with means test and capital statement preparation and negotiated good outcomes for her clients.

Theresa has also assisted new investors in Malaysia to successfully apply for and obtain tax incentives.

Under Theresa’s leadership, Deloitte Malaysia has, since its participation in 2008, consistently secured a Tier 1 ranking in the World Transfer Pricing Guide published by International Tax Review (ITR), a prominent global tax publication, since its participation in 2008. Theresa also led Deloitte Malaysia to win the Malaysia Transfer Pricing Firm of the year award bestowed by ITR in 2008, 2016, 2020.

Additionally, Theresa has been nominated as Asia Transfer Pricing Practice Leader by ITR 2021 and received numerous personal awards such as:

Theresa is a Certified Public Accountant, (MICPA), a Chartered Accountant (MIA), and a fellow member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM). Theresa is a council member of MICPA (since 2006) and is a member of its Tax Committee. She chairs its Membership Affairs Committee.

She was a council member of Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) and is currently a member of CTIM’s TP Technical Committee.

She is also an approved tax agent under the Malaysian Income Tax Act, 1967.

She is a frequent speaker at conferences, nationally and abroad, focusing on emerging transfer pricing and tax issues. She has provided training to various branches of the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRB), and regularly participates in operational dialogues with the IRB.
